Who am I?
Who am I?
My own personal experiences led me to a career in counselling. Previously I worked as a full time HR Manager, working long hours and travelling extensively. I decided that I wanted to do something more fulfilling and to genuinely help people, It is an honour for me to work with clients who trust me in order for them to open up and share their story - often for the first time.
I have been practising since I qualified as a counsellor in 2006. I hold a professional counselling qualification (Advanced Diploma in Counselling) and am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapists (BACP). I am also UK Registered Independent Counsellor and work within the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice. I am also an INLPTA Certified NLP Master Practitioner.
I have also undertaken the following further training:
- NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming)
- IEMT (Integral Eye Movement Therapy)
- CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy) techniques
- EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique)
- Domestic Violence and Abuse
- Improving Self Esteem
- Assertiveness
- Self Harm awareness
- Expressive Therapy
- Bereavement and Loss
- Addictions
- Life Coaching
- Mindfulness
- Meditation
- Panic Disorders
I currently counsel clients in a private clinic in Denton. I have worked with clients at a Women’s Centre and also within a busy GP Practice.
My intention is always to offer empathy, understanding, acceptance and genuineness. I am neither directive, nor judgemental, but I can be challenging where I feel you would gain benefit from me being so. I am described as approachable and friendly too!
I am fully insured and DBS checked and undertake monthly Clinical Supervision.
I am a genuine and caring person who is passionate about counselling and, above all, helping YOU by listening, caring and supporting.
